Kunafa Crisp was the first Kunafa specialist outlet in Malaysia, and we wanted to build a brand that is reflective of the origin of the product, modern and suitable for the Malaysia market, and adaptive to grow with the company beyond the retail business model to be at the same level of global franchises.
Outcome
Through close collaboration with the Kunafa Crisp management team, we evaluated the opportunities and challenges in the market and identified the best approach to tackle them and we came up with a unique brand that reflects the authenticity of the concept and product while being suitable for the Malaysian market and approachable by the target young audience.
Impact
Within a month of launching Kunafa Crisp, a nationwide craze for Kunafa started. and the brand we developed helped keep our client recognisable and easily identified in a wave of competing outlets that wanted to ride the wave of the newfound love of Kunafa. and the extent of Kunafa Crisp’s uniqueness reached the level that the product itself became known as Kunafa Crisp in the market and in the minds of the target audience. that resulted in great sales and investors’ interest in the franchise concept and a long-lasting foothold for the brand after the majority of the competitors faded away in the newly crowded market.
